Also, I should preface this by saying the last couple of weeks in an epic coincidence, I've been binge-watching Revenge on Netflix/Hulu to get caught-up to where it is currently on TV. So when I read the premise of this book, I was intrigued.
Let me back up and catch you up in case you just jump in to books without reading the synopsis (like I do sometimes.) So in this book we meet Alecia Reynolds, whose parents are both murdered by a local motorcycle gang. While that sounds cut and dried, it's anything but. It turns out that her father was an undercover cop who infiltrated his way into the Spades MC and his boss, Collin Berkeley is dirty and ratted him out to the MC.
A year later, a mysterious informant reaches out to Alecia and leaves her a whole host of information that her father was set-up and data for her to use to exact justice.
Thus, Alecia begins her plan to get revenge. She trains hard for two years to prepare herself not only physically, but mentally. Armed with an in at the police station, her friend Sheridan, and her tech guy, Marcus, and three minions/distractions Alecia's plan begins.
She infiltrates herself as a club whore by the name of Ella Moore and thus begins the fun.
I won't spoil this great read, because honestly, you should just enjoy it yourself. Suffice to say, I really did like it. I enjoyed how steadfast she was in her plan, never wavering in her execution (pun intended) of her plan and even when things started to fall apart-she never did.
Honestly, her relationship with Taser I think helped the character because she showed humanity, that her revenge hadn't completely taken over and that she could allow herself to feel again. Without it, she would have come across as cold and ruthless, with more issues than seeking revenge.
Also, yes, this book has a HEA but it also has a plot twist I, for one, did not see coming. I liked not only the plot twist, cause it explained lingering questions, but also because she allowed herself to be happy.
Personally, I would love to hear more about their story so if Kasey Millstead is listening: more Alecia please!!! Thanks!
