Channing is a beautician at a funeral home who lives with her deadbeat brother, Andrew, who spends most of his time playing video games instead of helping around the house. This actually is the reason Loki & Channing end up meeting when Channing is forced to cut the grass because her brother won't, she suffers an asthma attack and Loki comes to her rescue.
While at work the next day, we meet Brittany Warren, her boss and friend, who is married to Benton PD's Chief of Police, Cabe, who is Loki's boss. Talk about a small world. Also, we learn that Channing has a fear of cops after being nearly raped at 16 by someone pretending to be. Plot twist? Irony? Call it what you will, things just got interesting!
This book has a great plot which keeps the book moving, doesn't leave the reader confused, catches you up on the previous couples and features some steamy scenes between Channing & Loki.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about men in uniform and tatted up Alpha males who love their women.
